Scandiflash 2.0: A refreshed identity and new website
Looking like the leader we are
A lot has changed in the 50+ years that we’ve been pioneering flash X-ray technology – our products, our people, our business strategy, and even our customers around the globe that rely on our flash X-ray systems to perform their research. We thought now is a good time to reflect these changes by rethinking the way we present ourselves through our brand and digital platform.
Modernizing the company
In late 2019, we celebrated a generation changeover as we restructured the company, brought in new management, implemented new ways of working including Agile and CE registration of many of our products, and began expanding our services and accessories. Following our new business strategy, we began reaching out to a broader audience than ever before. And now we’re exploring new applications for our products where we see flash X-ray technology offering significant advantages for research.
Sometimes you only get one chance – make it count.
Our flash X-ray systems are used by top researchers and scientists that have demanding standards for robustness, precision, and reliability. While our products and services live up to those demanding standards, we felt that our branding could be better aligned to match the reputation we’ve earned through the decades.
Introducing Scandiflash 2.0: A refreshed identity and a new website
Our journey began when we engaged Michael Best of Storybuilt Design based in Helsingør, Denmark. Our first task was to refresh our brand identity which opened a dialogue that helped us to arrive at the company signature (our logo) that captures the essence of who we (Scandiflash) are. For those of you that are not familiar with our previous identity mark, you can see it here alongside our new identity mark in both square and horizontal formats.
From that point, we could more easily begin designing and building our new website with a clear goal in mind – to share more and better information with our customers on an up-to-date platform. We’re making it easier to learn about our products, their applications, and how to handle Scandiflash instruments.
We may be at the top of our field in a global market, but we’re still a relatively small company. And that meant we needed a bit of a mixed approach to create the future website we imagined. We knew we needed to create a lot of new content, but we also knew we needed to find a way to work in phases where we could use some of what we already had. We’ve built the new site with growth in mind and plan to expand with both revised and new content in phases going forward.
The Flash X-ray Blog
This is an entirely new area for us. Remember, we’re experts in flash X-ray technology not journalism. And many of our customers perform research that is classified and not allowed to be shared. But, we do intend to make our best effort to begin sharing stories that can inform and inspire researchers and scientists around the world whose work might benefit from the advantages offered by flash X-ray systems and high-speed imaging. So, follow our blog and let us know if you have suggestions for content that would help you and your research. Or, let us know about any of your research that involves flash X-ray technology that you are willing to share.
