Better image quality for multiple image detector setups

A tough challenge when working with either Stereo Flash X-ray or Trajectory Flash X-ray setups is the close proximity of multiple image detectors to each other. The XTC150 Aperture gives you the control to restrain unwanted X-rays that might otherwise over expose or double expose adjacent detectors. Avoiding this type of exposure problem means you can expect better quality images from your research.

Precisely control your exposure area

Machine-crafted aluminum and lined with lead, the XTC150 Aperture is a completely adjustable aperture. Both the beam width and angle can be set to your exact requirements in order to expose only the area needed and not more. Two sliding baffles allow the aperture gap to be set with millimeter accuracy. And the XTC150 even has rotational stops at 30-degree increments to accommodate both horizontal and vertical orientations. Exposing multiple image detectors and preventing X-ray dispersion has never been easier!

Easy to handle and set up

The XTC150 is delivered with an X-ray Window Quick-Mount Adapter Plate™ that replaces the original X-ray window retention plate on any SCF150 tube. With the quick-mount adapter in place, a simple spin and click of the bayonet mount on the XTC150 means you can mount, adjust and unmount this nearly pocket-sized aperture in just seconds! You no longer need extra stands or awkward constructions to position X-ray baffles.

The X-ray Window Quick-Mount Adapter Plate™ also opens opportunities for a range of new add-ons – like a laser alignment tool.  Best of all, the simple process of changing anodes and cathodes remains unaltered – just remove a few screws in the adapter plate to perform your service. And if you don’t already have one, now is a good time to add an RPS30 Service Station to your Scandiflash system to streamline all of your flash X-ray tube service and maintenance tasks.

Fits newer and older SCF150 X-ray tubes

The XTC150 fits and functions identically on both straight and right-angled tubes. Thanks to our modular approach to creating our products, whether your investment is in twenty-year-old plus SCF150 tubes or the latest models from our production, the XTC150 will contain and direct your X-rays with unmatched efficiency.

We’re committed to continually improving our instruments and the accessories you need to support your research.
